The Creative Genius Blog Award

Last week five writers, including myself received the “Creative Genius Blog Award” from Deanna Schrayer. I am so completely honored, not only to receive this award, but also because my fellow recipients are some amazing writers.

As many of my readers know, for the past year I’ve been helping my mother recover from cancer treatment and the loss of my father. It’s been a tough year, but we’re OK.

During the course of this tough year, my Ravenwood blog received several awards and I was honored to receive every one of them. However because I was overwhelmed with things here, I never fulfilled my duties as a recipient by awarding them to other writers who I considered to be deserving.

I am going to remedy that today.

Lionel Braud is a brilliant writer who has been an inspiration and a friend for many years. He’s new to the #fridayflash and #Tuesdayserial communities, and his blog The Dreamer’s Verse is a work-in-progress, but it’s worth the effort to read his wonderful writing.

Icy Sedgwick never ceases to amaze me with her wonderful imagination and craft. It’s always a pleasure to read her work. She posts weekly writing prompts on her blog, Icy’s Blunt Pencil.

John Wiswell has been blogging nonstop for over a year. I have no idea how he does it or how he consistently manages to produce the amount of quality work that he writes. Please visit his blog, The Bathroom Monologues.

Thank you Deanna for creating this award. You were one of the few people who kept in contact with me through all those dark months. Thank you also for your continued support of my creative writing and most importantly your friendship.

thanks for all of your support as well. I left a comment on here earlier. I read the whole thing.

Thanks Rachel! I’m glad people still get a kick out of the Bathroom Monologues. Working on a novel now, keeping up daily posting is pretty taxing. If you enjoy them, then they’re worth doing.

Novels are tough, but I find they can also be cathartic. I’m sure your novel is going to be wonderful, John.
